I started this month off by going on vacation. I had some family come visit and we rented a car and started our vacation off in Stonehenge. I have wanted to see this historical sight for as long as we have lived here in England. I was shocked to learn it was not too far from us (a couple hours drive). When we finally arrived, the weather was sunny, windy but beautiful out.
After spending about 2-3 hours at Stonehenge we drove an hour or so to Bath. I have to say I was expecting a very busy city with a lot more hustle and bustle, but what I was surprised to see was the calmness and true beauty of an old city. Lots of tiny alleys, old stone buildings, lots of amazing history and just natural beauty.
The days were sunny but a bit cold. The mornings would start out with a scarf and beanie but by the afternoon I had them off and the sun would be shining. Spring in Bath was a great time.
Tiny allies to walk down and lots of stone paths to explore. The curved buildings, small shops and restaurants was just adorable.
The kids found a few telephone booths to take a photo with.
This is near the Pulteney Bridge and it was a beautiful area. Lots of grass, the water was flowing and a small little water fall.
A view of the bridge and building from further down the river.
Adorable court yard where we stopped to have some coffee and a muffin.
The abbey was a gorgeous building. We did not go in as it required us to pay and we decided the baths were more important for us to tour.
In side the Roman Bath with my handsome husband.
The baths had amazing detailed architecture, the statues and stone work was beautiful. So much history and the tour had tons of informative historical facts and information.
We stopped off at the Circus before we walked over to the Royal Crescent and enjoyed the beautiful green grass.
We had some amazing treats from Sally Lunns Buns, Mrs. Potts Chocolate House, Guildhall Market, Sweet Little Things, Heavenly Desserts, and the Cornish Bakery. The food, the drinks and all the sweets were amazing. I would absolutely go back and stay again in the city. It was a beautiful city and just stunning. If you have been wanting to go but haven't you should. It was worth every second.
The last few days of our trip were spent in London. I will make another blog post for our London sight seeing and travels.
I hope you all had a great Easter and have enjoyed all the Spring days. The weather has been bright and sunny with a little bit of wind but it has been a huge boost for my mental health. The sun comes out and I will always take advantage of that and try to spend time outside as much as possible. The flowers have bloomed and the grass is green, its finally feeling less gloomy here in England.
With that being said, come back soon to see my London trip and my Batik Ambassador post.
Stay safe, stay healthy and be kind.
